DASTAK (Dr. Ambedkar Society for Thoughts, Actions and Consciousness) was established in 1999 and registered in 2000 under the Societies Registration Act under the patronage of Om Prakash Kohli. The organization is also registered under 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act, CSR-1, and NITI Aayog DARPAN. Donations made to DASTAK are eligible for income tax exemption as per applicable laws.

Inspired by the vision and ideals of Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the great social reformer and principal architect of the Constitution of India, DASTAK was founded with the guiding slogan “Educate, Unite and Agitate.” Since its inception, the organization has been dedicated to the holistic development and empowerment of underprivileged and marginalized communities through initiatives in Education, Health, and Prosperity.

DASTAK began its journey with 11 founding members, comprising 5 Office Bearers and 6 Executive Members. Over the past 26+ years, the organization has grown into a vibrant community with 5 Office Bearers, 10 Executive Members, 25 Active Members, and 10 General Members. In addition, DASTAK is supported by a strong network of donors, volunteers, well-wishers, and partner organizations who contribute significantly to its mission of creating an inclusive, educated, healthy, and self-reliant society.
